About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Analyst / Internal Company Accountant to join our NFP & Charity Division in Wagga Wagga, supporting clients through the delivery of high‑quality outsourced internal accounting services.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys complexity, client engagement, and the opportunity to work across a broad range of financial and compliance activities, with scope to support and guide a small team.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing complex budgets, including program and funding allocations

  • Preparing and reviewing audit workpapers, including complex calculations in line with accounting standards (e.g. ROU assets, LSL provisions, fee relief calculations)

  • Preparing financial statements and complex Board reporting, including cash flow statements

  • Preparing and reviewing complex funding acquittals

  • Assisting with funding submissions and ad‑hoc financial data requests

  • Preparing complex period‑end journals and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Analysing Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet results, including budget variance analysis

  • Assisting with BAS, IAS, payroll tax and superannuation lodgements as required

  • Supporting payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations during peak periods

  • Responding to complex client queries and assisting with relationship management

  • Assisting with client billing where required

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical accounting skills, commercial thinking, and a genuine interest in supporting Not‑for‑Profit and Charity clients.

You will ideally have:

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in a similar role

  • Degree‑qualified, with CA or CPA qualifications (or working towards)

  • Proven experience as a Company Accountant

  • Strong experience using Accounting software (eg Xero, MYOB and excel)

  • Payroll experience

  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals (Drs & Crs, P&L and Balance Sheet)

  • Sound GST knowledge

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

  • The ability to identify and communicate process improvements

  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills

  • Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills

  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach and the ability to work independently
