As Senior Analyst Business Innovation and Support you will be responsible for managing the processes specific to the maintenance, development and evolution of Qantas flight planning system and its associated components. This role will also provide specialist domain knowledge and will work closely with vendors and stakeholders to ensure the ongoing and continuous support of the Flight Planning System.
Additionally, the role of Senior Analyst Business Innovation and Support will also be responsible for the identification of events leading to system failures, rectification and reporting of such events as required to support and ensure the continuous availability of the Constellation Flight Planning system.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills & experience:
- Experience working in the aviation domain, preferably as a Commercial Pilot, Flight Dispatcher or Air Traffic Controller
- Must possess an understanding of computerised flight planning systems, key components and data flows.
- Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., ICAO, CASA) specifically related to the flight dispatch process.
- The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with one or more industry-leading vendors or platforms in the areas of Aviation Information Management (AIM), Flight Planning Applications, or Flight Optimization Systems
- Experience using collaboration platforms like JIRA and Confluence to effectively document, track, and manage project stories, tasks, and workflows is desirable
- Familiarity with software automation and the influence this has on business process in highly technical domains.
- Demonstrates a high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and accountability, with a proven track record of successfully managing tasks and responsibilities with minimal oversight
- High levels of written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify, address, and lead the resolution of complex strategic challenges.
- Temperament suited to working with people from differing backgrounds
- Experience in Change Management and the ability to lead people through changes in business processes
- A strong people focus, with the ability to invest in Learning & Development, and continuous improvement
