Role Purpose

The Senior Analyst – KYC Onboarding & Refresh will be responsible for end‑to‑end KYC onboarding and periodic review activities for US funds, entities, and related structures. The role requires strong ownership, regulatory awareness, and a zero‑error mindset to ensure full compliance with KYC regulations while meeting client expectations and operational SLAs.

This role is critical to supporting US business operations and contributing to the growth of a KYC operations team at KATS – Bangalore.

Responsibilities:

KYC Onboarding & Refresh – Data, Risk & Compliance Execution

  • End‑to‑end ownership of KYC onboarding and periodic refreshers for US funds, legal entities, and related client structures.

  • Collect, verify, and validate customer identification and required KYC documentation in line with regulatory and internal policy requirements.

  • Conduct customer risk assessments, evaluate risk levels, and update risk scores and profiles accurately in the system.

  • Perform initial and ongoing compliance screenings, including sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks during onboarding and refresher cycles.

  • Identify red flags, inconsistencies, and potential risks, and escalate appropriately for review and resolution.

  • Collaborate closely with MLRO and Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) teams to investigate and close alerts in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all client records, documents, and risk information in the KATS/KYC systems are accurate, complete, and kept up to date at all times.

  • Maintain zero tolerance for errors, with a strong focus on risk, controls, and regulatory adherence.

  • Efficiently manage daily onboarding and refresher volumes while meeting SLAs, quality standards, and regulatory timelines.

Data Interpretation and Implementation: - 

  • Demonstrate 100% ownership of the assigned KYC desk and day‑to‑day activities.

  • Ensure timely, professional, and accurate responses to all client and stakeholder queries, with no delays in communication.

  • Maintain excellent email management and tracking, ensuring no emails or follow‑ups are missed.

  • Consistently meet and exceed client expectations through proactive communication and issue resolution.

  • Support management and the KYC team in preparation of monthly MIS reports, including productivity, quality, risk, and control metrics.

  • Actively contributes to audits, internal reviews, and regulatory assessments as required.

  • Be an active stakeholder in KATS – leveraging experience and subject‑matter expertise to enhance and refine KYC processes.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at building a high‑performing KYC operations team.

  • Serve as a role model for quality, ownership, professionalism, and compliance excellence within the KYC team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. 

  • 3–5 years of experience in KYC operations. 

  • Proven hands‑on experience in KYC onboarding and periodic reviews/refreshers. 

  • Exposure having experience supporting US region KYC processes and complex client structures is added advantage. 

  • Willingness to work in APAC  business hours (6:30 am to 3:30 pm (IST).
