032705 Senior Analyst – Accounting & Compliance (Open)Job Description:
Role Overview:
The Accounting & Compliance Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting compliance with reporting obligations across the global enterprise. This role requires strong organizational skills, an attention to detail and the ability to learn and develop expertise in the subject matter.
1. Statutory Reporting
- Prepares statutory reporting for Greif’s international entities across various jurisdictions
- Executes processes and controls (including SOX) around the statutory filing preparation
- Implements material changes in U.S. and non-U.S. statutory and compliance regulations
- Continuously learns and develops subject matter expertise in statutory and financial reporting for multiple jurisdictions
2. Compliance Reporting:
- Participate in statutory and compliance projects relevant to jurisdictional responsibilities
- Participates in cross-functional projects involving international restructuring, M&A activities and divestitures within responsible jurisdictions
- Completes the quarterly and year-end statutory compliance obligations, including statutory, tax and government reporting requirements for one or more jurisdictions
- Supports Company involvement in matter resolution and audit inquiries with tax authorities, government authorities, and internal and external auditors for multiple jurisdictions
3. Controlling:
- Prepares balance sheet and income statement monitoring over legal entities and strategic business units
- Prepares SOX controls related to entity-level areas for responsible jurisdictions
- Serves as liaison with enabling functions and business operations to design and implement internal controls and process improvements
4. Business Partnering:
- Works with multiple parties in support of compliance reporting obligations (parties include GBSC, FP&A CoE, business unit finance, Business operations leaders, legal department and tax department).
- Executes responsibilities and timely updates reporting in line with KPIs and dashboard reporting to provide accurate and timely review of status and deadlines for all compliance-related matters.
- Provides support needed for legal entity Directors in fulfillment of legal entity compliance obligations.
- Continuously develops technical and reporting subject matter expertise
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration within the accounting team.
- Deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely financial information in accordance with regulatory requirements.
6. Process Improvement and Automation:
- Maintain operating procedures to deliver accurate and timely statutory reporting in an efficient delivery model. Make recommendations to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting processes, systems, and tools. Make recommendations to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Support initiatives to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures within responsible area.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA (or local equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in financial and/or reporting roles
- Experience in statutory and compliance reporting for one or more jurisdictions
- Ability to be accountable for delivering results on strict timelines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate to a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment a plus
