Job Description:
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Alteryx Developer with proven expertise in API integrations, database connectivity, Snowflake environments, data validation, and Alteryx best practices. This role will be pivotal in enabling high-quality, automated, and reliable data pipelines that power analytics and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a detailed understanding of enterprise data ecosystems, and the ability to optimize Alteryx solutions for both Designer and Server environments.
Roles Responsibilities:
1. API Integration & Automation
Design, build, and maintain Alteryx workflows that consume REST and SOAP APIs for real-time and batch data ingestion.
Implement authentication methods, including OAuth 2.0, API keys, and token-based security, within Alteryx workflows.
Monitor API integrations for performance, error handling, and data integrity.
2. Database Connectivity & Snowflake Integration
Establish and manage native Alteryx database connections across multiple RDBMS platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
Configure and optimize Alteryx–Snowflake connectivity using ODBC/JDBC drivers and bulk loading techniques.
Leverage pushdown optimization and in-database tools for maximum performance against large datasets.
3. Data Validation & Quality Assurance
Create frameworks within Alteryx for data quality checks, including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and referential integrity.
Implement logging and exception handling within workflows to monitor data anomalies.
Automate validation processes to run pre- and post-load for ETL jobs.
4. Best Practices & Performance Optimization
Apply Alteryx Designer best practices: modular workflow design, reusable macros, annotation/documentation, and version control.
Optimize workflows for Alteryx Server execution: scheduling, priority management, dependency handling, and resource optimization.
Implement governance standards for workflow deployment, access management, and error resolution.
5. Collaboration & Documentation
Partner with analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient workflows.
Maintain clear technical documentation for workflows, macros, APIs, and connections.
Train junior staff and evangelize Alteryx best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
3–5+ years of Alteryx Designer experience (Core or Advanced certified preferred).
Proven experience integrating APIs into Alteryx workflows.
Strong background in database administration and connectivity within Alteryx.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake data cloud integration, including bulk loads and query optimization.
Skilled in SQL (DDL/DML), with ability to script and optimize queries.
Excellent understanding of ETL concepts, data cleansing, and data governance.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Preferred Skills
Experience building Macros in Alteryx
Experience with automation tools such as Alteryx Scheduler or Server API.
Familiarity with Python or R for supplemental analytics tasks.
Cloud experience (Snowflake on AWS/Azure/GCP ecosystem).
Knowledge of CI/CD and workflow version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
Reading/writing from Snowflake (Using Alteryx)
