Responsibilities

  • Conduct all-source intelligence analysis using classified, unclassified, publicly available, and geospatial information to assess, interpret, forecast, and report on national security issues, natural and man-made hazards, and other events impacting National Guard personnel, property, equipment, and operations.
  • Monitor NGB J2 Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs), Chief’s Critical Information Requirements (CCIRs), and Requests for Information/Assistance (RFI/RFAs), ensuring applicable requests are addressed within established timelines and status updates are provided to NGB J2 leadership.
  • Develop, review, brief, and publish classified and unclassified intelligence products, including Incident Awareness and Assessment (IAA), Homeland Defense/Security, Medical Intelligence, Cyber Intelligence, Information Operations, and Critical Infrastructure assessments, in accordance with DNI Analytic Tradecraft Standards.
  • Support all-hazard and contingency operations by coordinating with federal agencies, interagency partners, Joint Force Headquarters-State (JFHQ-State), and other National Guard stakeholders to identify intelligence requirements, assess federal IAA capabilities, and provide analytical and collection support.
  • Brief National Guard senior leaders and provide recurring intelligence reporting, including analytical products, Executive Summaries (EXSUMs), situational updates, and other products required by operational battle rhythms.
  • Deploy in support of contingency or emergency operations when required, including the ability to deploy within four hours of notification and support operations that may last 14 days or longer at locations throughout the United States.
  • Maintain the flexibility to support 24/7 operations, extended shifts of 12 hours or more, alternate work locations, and changing operational requirements, while also maintaining and updating NGB J2 IAA continuity procedures, SOPs, checklists, contact rosters, and related operational documentation.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and twelve (12) years of experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional five (5) years of related senior experience, for a total of seventeen (17) years, in lieu of a Master's Degree. 

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirm completion of all developmental training and experiences for the labor category.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the labor category activities required to meet mission requirements.
  • Mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and pursuing developments in academia or other fields that affect tradecraft methodology.
  • Ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
  • In-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries, and clearly articulates key findings.
  • Ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests the analytic rigor of analytic products.
