Join Optum's Prior Authorization Automation Platform to build and operate scalable AI/ML platforms supporting Prior Auth Determination, Status Monitoring, and future AI agents. This role focuses on production AI delivery, MLOps, monitoring, governance, and enterprise-scale ML operations. The platform includes AI-assisted determination, monitoring, and future agentic automation capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain production-grade AI/ML platforms
- Build scalable MLOps pipelines and AI deployment frameworks
- Implement model lifecycle management, CI/CD for ML, and automated retraining
- Establish monitoring for:
- Model Performance
- Data Drift
- Concept Drift
- Prompt Drift
- Hallucination Tracking
- Build champion vs. challenger model frameworks
- Develop AI observability, governance, and compliance controls
- Support AIRB, Responsible AI, and production AI readiness
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years in AI/ML Engineering, Data Engineering, or MLOps
- Solid Python and ML platform experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Azure ML
- Databricks
- MLflow
- CI/CD for ML
- AI Observability
- Model Monitoring
- Experience deploying and operating ML systems at enterprise scale
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare AI, Prior Authorization, Claims, RCM, or EHR experience
- Experience building governance and Responsible AI controls
- FHIR, HL7, Epic integration knowledge
- Exposure to GenAI, LLMOps, and AI monitoring frameworks
Ideal Candidate:
- A solid AI platform engineer who can operationalize AI at scale and ensure Prior Authorization AI solutions are reliable, observable, compliant, and production-ready
