As Senior AI Governance Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and embedding group-wide AI governance standards across the organisation. Working within the Center of Excellence Data & AI, you will lead AI governance topics, AI frameworks and cross-functional initiatives without direct line management responsibility. You will collaborate closely with business, technology, risk, compliance, legal and data teams to enable responsible, compliant and effective use of Artificial Intelligence in a banking environment.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the group-wide AI governance framework, including policies, standards, controls and guidance.
- Drive the operationalisation of AI governance across the AI lifecycle, from use-case intake and risk assessment to approval, monitoring and periodic review.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business, technology and control functions on responsible AI practices, regulatory expectations and governance requirements.
- Maintain oversight of AI use cases, inventories and documentation to support transparency, auditability and consistent governance across locations.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments related to AI, data, model risk and digital banking, and translate them into practical requirements for the organisation.
- Prepare clear reporting, recommendations and decision materials for senior stakeholders, governance bodies and relevant control functions.
- Promote awareness and adoption of responsible AI through training, guidance and close collaboration with teams across the group.
- Several years of experience in AI governance, model risk management or a related field, preferably within banking, financial services or insurance.
- Very strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including related risks, controls and governance expectations across the AI lifecycle.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry frameworks, such as the EU AI Act, FINMA expectations, MAS guidance, model risk management principles, data protection and operational resilience requirements.
- Proven ability to lead topics, initiatives and stakeholder alignment in an international matrix organisation, without requiring direct people management responsibility.
- Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented working style, with strong analytical skills and the ability to challenge constructively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory topics into clear business guidance; German is an advantage.
- Preferred qualifications include relevant certifications or further education in AI governance, risk management, compliance, audit, data protection or information security.
