Job DescriptionIn 2023, it was announced that Massive Entertainment is leading the development of Tom Clancy's The Division 3. While we cannot unveil any details about the third entry in the series at this time, we are actively recruiting for the project.
We are looking for an experienced AI Designer, to join one of Massive Entertainment’s exciting IPs. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with design leads, directors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality enemy NPCs that elevate a world-class combat experience.
What you'll do
- Working closely with design leads and combat designers to conceptualize and refine NPC archetypes aligned with the core combat loop vision
- Implementing and refining high-quality combat NPC behaviors using node graphs and behavior trees.
- Working directly in the Snowdrop game engine to script, tweak, and fine-tune NPCs, while contributing to the continuous improvement of NPC-related tools and workflows.
- Partnering with Tech, Art, and World teams to create combat NPCs that elevate the combat experience and to maximize their potential across all content.
- Collaborating with production and leads across disciplines to plan tasks, assess risks, and manage scope effectively.
- Continuously iterate on NPCs based on playtest feedback, in service of improving the overall combat experience.
What you'll bring
- Proven game development experience in the shooter genre, with a strong preference for 3rd-person shooters on shipped titles.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing humanoid enemy NPCs.
- Proficiency with node-based tools for game development.
- Extensive hands-on experience with behavior trees.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams toward a shared vision or goal.
- Comprehensive understanding of iterative development processes and rapid prototyping methodologies.

- Strong familiarity with The Division games.
