Senior AI Engineer

Location Qualifications: Bucharest (hybrid, 2 days in the office)

Position Overview: 

As a Senior AI Engineer at Showpad, you will be at the forefront of driving our AI and machine learning initiatives. You'll work closely with your peers in cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI technologies that align with our business goals and drive innovation. You’ll play a mentoring role within the team.

You’ll work with state-of-the-art technologies such as LLM models like LLama 3/3.1, Claude models, AWS Bedrock, AWS Sagemaker, and AWS OpenSearch.

Our primary languages are Python, Typescript and Kotlin. The AI and Generative AI space is evolving rapidly, and so are we. We continuously update to the newest models, track emerging techniques, and engage in extensive experimentation with prompt engineering to ensure our solutions are at the forefront of technology.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain robust AI models to solve complex business problems
• Oversee and direct projects from scoping to release
• Ensure the performance and reliability of AI and machine learning systems.
• Coordinates efforts across the teams rather than working in a silo.
• Mentors and actively drives the technical skills of the immediate or extended team with consideration of their career stage and personal trajectory. 
• Design, craft, and optimize prompts that guide our AI systems to generate accurate, informative, and creative outputs.
• Contribute to the broader engineering/enablement and product strategy

Are you our next Senior AI Engineer?

Must haves

• Educational background in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI or related field or similar level of knowledge obtained through experience.
• 5+ years experience with developing and implementing AI models and algorithms.
• Good knowledge of Python
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs and other Generative AI models
• Strong experience working with AWS or other cloud providers
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A passion for mentoring other team members

Nice to haves

• Experience with building retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Experience with Search algorithms
• Experience working in an agile team
• Experience with the evaluation of (Generative) AI systems.
