Lawhive is an online platform for consumers and small businesses to get legal help for a fraction of the cost of a law firm. Our platform combines regulated human lawyers collaborating alongside the world’s first AI lawyer specifically built for consumer legal work.

Equal access to the law is one of the biggest and most pressing unsolved problems in society today. We’re passionate about leveling the playing field and believe access to the law should be a basic utility in society.

Our AI lawyer Lawrence is built on top of our own fine-tuned LLM who has passed the Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE).

We have backing from leading US and UK VC funds including Google Ventures, Balderton Capital and TQ Ventures (who have funded 82 unicorns between them!). We recently secured a $40m Series A funding round to facilitate international expansion and to grow our team. This represents one of the five largest Series A rounds in Europe for 2024!

We’re hiring a Senior AI engineer to help to build our AI products and contribute to our AI lawyer research.

Reporting to engineering leadership, you’ll be a highly experienced member of the AI and engineering team, responsible for developing and productionising novel AI-driven products to our users. You’ll be working in a fast paced, deeply technical team across across the data and AI stack; data analysis, data processing and engineering, LLM experimentation and new model R&D.

• Solving abstract problems using modern AI tools and models across the entire data and engineering stack alongside a highly technical team
• Performing experimental research for new approaches, models and data usage to improve our AI lawyer
• Working with the engineering team to take R&D and experiments to production-readiness
• Ensuring our AI products evolve quickly and safely with the best development and testing practices
• Assisting with hiring and technical leadership

• You have a track record of delivering exceptional work and can demonstrate it
• You have experience in fast paced and high growth environments
• You are highly organised and can demonstrate your attention to detail
• You’re motivated and ambitious, capable of learning and adapting quickly
• You have deep understanding of modern AI tools and approaches
• You’ve been an autonomous contributor in a high output engineering team and have experience moving fast
