As a Senior AI Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in the commissioning, scaling, and deployment of machine learning models and solutions.
In addition to our wide range of benefits, you can expect an attractive starting salary between $104,800/year and $127,100/year plus a variable component for full-time employment. The starting salary is based on your qualifications and professional experience.
Where your expertise is needed:
You will be responsible for commissioning and operating the models and training algorithms of the data scientists in the cloud using Kubeflow/Kubernetes. This will be done in close cooperation with the data scientists and colleagues from the specialist departments.
You will ensure that the resulting implementations are secure, high-performing, robust, reliable, expandable, scalable, and maintainable.
To this end, you will develop technical guidelines, best practices, and reusable building blocks beyond individual cases, using existing software libraries and frameworks.
You will be responsible for the induction, training, and mentoring of less experienced AI engineers.
You will coordinate and supervise the work of external partners who support engineering activities
You will be the company-wide contact person for all AI engineering questions and will support management as technical lead
You will actively participate in the selection and continuous adaptation of the frameworks, libraries, and software tools used
What will get you on your way to Covestro:
Several years of experience in AI engineering with the implementation and maintenance of machine learning models, as well as extensive expertise with machine learning (pipeline) architectures
Several years of experience with Python, Docker, Linux, CI/CD, and professional software engineering experience
Cloud engineering experience with AWS or another leading cloud provider
Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes and Kubeflow would be helpful, as would experience in data engineering and the manipulation of tabular data
A university degree (preferably a diploma, master's or PhD) in computer science, software engineering or computational engineering
Experience working in international and virtual teams would be helpful
Fluency in spoken and written English and willingness to travel internationally
Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to tackle diverse challenges
You are an open-minded team player with an approachable personality who enjoys working and communicating with experts from completely different fields
