Job Title: Sr. Team Lead, SOftware Engineering

General Summary:

The Senior AI Engineer is responsible for developing high-quality, innovative, fully performing AI-based applications in compliance with coding standards. This individual works in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure that software deliverables, including designs, codes, and tests, are completed in a timely manner while remaining aligned with industry and organizational standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Designs, builds, and maintains large-scale production services and data pipelines.
  • Influence others within the ML/ AI team through the explanation of facts, policies, and practices
  • Works on systems critical to company’s current and future operations
  • Debugs production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
  • Researches, analyzes, and documents findings.
  • Assists with improvement of organizational engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software
  • Evaluates codes to ensure validity, proper structure, alignment with industry standards, and compatibility with operating systems
  • Maintains an understanding of current technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

  • Strong programming skills with proven experience implementing Python-based solutions using good software engineering design practices & OOPs concepts.
  • Hand-on experience in developing production grade code & REST APIs (e.g., Flask, FastAPI).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (experience with tools like Git, Docker, Jenkins, and Airflow).
  • Knowledge of at least one cloud platform (e.g. AWS/ Azure) and its relevant services (e.g. EMR, S3, and SageMaker).
  • Understanding of RAG-based Generative AI applications with a basic understanding of embeddings, vector databases, LLMs (OpenAI/GPT-3), and libraries (e.g., Langchain, Haystack, Hugging Face, LlamaIndex).
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest).
  • Version control experience with Git.
  • Ability to situationally adapt and understand new technology/processes as per business partner requirement.
  • Proficient in Database, NoSQL/ SQL and/or other data manipulation languages.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and translate into AI solution deliverables.
  • Ability to break down and communicate complex, highly technical concepts to audiences of varying technical understanding.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

  • Bachelor/ Master degree in CS or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
