This Position reports to:
R&D Team LeadIn this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

This role is contributing to the Motion Business Service Division in Bangalore, India
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Conduct exploratory data analysis on time series data to support the design and development of robust algorithms.
- Stay abreast of cutting-edge advancements in AI, including Physics-Informed Models, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and Digital Twin technologies.
- Apply state-of-the-art techniques to identify new use cases and enhance existing algorithms with minimal supervision.
- Continuously improve algorithm performance by designing validation methods and defining evaluation metrics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to productize solutions, unlock new business opportunities, and enable innovative use cases.
- Translate complex analytical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders using storytelling and visualization.
- Lead experimentation, manage model versioning, and monitor performance in production environments.
- Work within a global agile development team, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and continuous integration and mentor or guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
Qualifications for the role:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in key areas relevant to industrial AI and diagnostics with Master’s or Doctoral degree in Data Science, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A strong academic track record is preferred.
- Proven expertise in developing detection, diagnostic, predictive, and recommendation models using statistical, mathematical, and machine learning techniques.
- Solid understanding of fault mechanisms in rotating equipment and condition monitoring of frequency converters.
- Proficiency in time series analysis, including FFT, wavelet transforms, and spectral analysis.
- Strong software development skills, preferably in Python. Familiarity with firmware development (e.g., C) and experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps is a plus and In-depth knowledge of machine learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI concepts and applications.
- Understanding of IoT architectures, REST APIs, and data engineering tools. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (for deployment), and firmware technologies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, text generation, summarization, question answering (Q&A), conversational AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agentic AI frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
