Senior Aerodynamics Engineer- Aerodynamic Data Modelling (d/f/m)

Aerodynamics is responsible for the aerodynamic design and characterization for all military aircraft programs along their product life cycle. We use numerical simulations, wind tunnel testing and flight test to understand the aerodynamic behavior and to create and deliver aircraft representative aerodynamic data and models for stability & control, performance, loads and aeroelastics as well as establishing envelopes for safe separation of external as well as internal stores and for plume ingestion. Besides, we give support to the production in terms of assessing the aerodynamics impact on non-conformities, repairs plus in-service incidents.

Your Mission:
As senior aerodynamicist, you will own the aerodynamic modeling strategy for high agility fighter aircraft based. You will oversee the integration of wind tunnel, flight test and numerical simulation data and drive the development for future aerodynamic dataset modeling technologies.
Your impact:
As successful candidate you will
- Lead the analysis and assessment of aerodynamic characteristics for high-agility fighter aircraft.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for wind tunnel and flight test campaigns.
- Define the methodology and architecture for modeling aerodynamic datasets throughout the envelope for stability & control, performance, and loads assessments.
- Provide expert oversight for flight test data analysis, helping to refine and perfect our aerodynamic databases.
- Champion innovation by driving the development of new technologies, such as data fusion and machine learning, to modernize our predictive capabilities.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Desired skills and qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
- Extensive professional experience (typically 7+ years) in aerodynamics and flight mechanics, with a proven track record in fighter aircraft programs.
- Deep expertise in wind tunnel and flight test data analysis and interpretation.
- Advanced proficiency in high-level programming (e.g., Python, C++) and demonstrated experience implementing machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data fusion algorithms in a production environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities: ability to guide technical teams, manage complex projects, and influence stakeholders.
- Proven ability to make high-stakes technical decisions under pressure and balance technical perfection with economic and schedule constraints.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex aerodynamic concepts to non-expert stakeholders and senior management.
- Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
