Impact
The job of a Senior Advisory Data Engineer is to lead a portion of the Data Infrastructure team located in India. This position will collaborate and coordinate with global and cross-functional stakeholders across Pitney Bowes’ organization and external partners. In addition, the position will drive continuous improvement of our processes and modernize our technologies. You will be an integral part of our talented team, supporting our continued growth, staging data that is the foundation of critical analytics and data science initiatives.
A day in the life…
- Work together with the teams of Pitney Bowes’ data landscape, including and not limited to the Data Strategy and Governance team, Engineering, Enterprise Information Management, Sales Operation, Marketing and Strategy.
- Effectively communicate concepts with authority and conviction.
- Increase efficiencies across data processes within the team.
- Develop a deep understanding and fine-tune extensive experience in accessing internal databases and navigating our complex data infrastructure.
- Stay abreast of latest industry topics, trends, news, methodologies, and tools. You will keep a constant eye out for potential improvements in analytics processes, data quality and data sources/tools.
Responsibilities
- Business acumen (with a similar organization as PB)
- Proven ability to communicate with nontechnical and technical people.
- Experience on scoping and gathering business and data as a product requirement.
- Experience and ability to work with Agile, DevOps and DataOps
- Drive to control costs and desire to identify revenue opportunities through data.
- Process driven
- Proof of continuously learning
- Extensive Project Management experience.
- Ability to use the data for business purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Information Technology, Computer Science, and/or Business Intelligence.
- 8-10 years of experience in a related field
- Working knowledge of the business or domain area
Must have
- Data mesh understanding and experience.
- Should be able to design and develop data architecture
- Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Data Bricks, Redshift, EMR, etc)
- Should have experience on ETL tool (like Snaplogic, Informatica, Talend, EMR, etc)
- Should be expert in SQL development
- Should have experience on AWS
Good to have
• Able to lead and adapt to changing priorities.
• Highly collaborative, flexible, and communicative
• Strong organizational skills
• Comfortable presenting recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders
