Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Risk Advisory team in Brisbane, specialising in Process Safety Risk across the Queensland market. This is a strong opportunity for someone from a Big 4, professional services or external advisory background who is ready to apply their consulting capability to complex, real-world infrastructure, energy, water and industrial challenges.

The Risk team is a core part of GHD Advisory, partnering with clients across strategy, operations and the full project lifecycle, this role offers the chance to move closer to implementation, technical problem-solving and long-term client impact.

As a Senior Risk Advisor at GHD Advisory, you’ll join a recognised market leader in risk management, with the opportunity to broaden your advisory career beyond traditional consulting.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Deliver innovative risk solutions for clients across a range of industries and markets, including risk assessments such as Safety in Design and technical risk modelling using consequence and risk software.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, contribute to business development, support tenders and proposals, and provide exceptional client service to encourage repeat business.
  • Contribute to project delivery by managing commercial and budget requirements, preparing clear written analysis, recommendations and presentations, and facilitating or scribing risk workshops.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor and coach team members, and support the overall performance and growth of the Business Group.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Degree qualification in Engineering or Science related to process safety (Chemical, Mechanical preferred) or similar discipline
  • Experience in a recognised consulting, chemical processing, heavy industry, corporate or regulatory environment
  • Experience working in a risk, audit, governance or compliance position
  • Training in the use of specific risk software will be provided but previous experience in PHAST, SAFETI, @Risk, PHAPro is highly desired
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills

You’ll also play an important role in mentoring and developing Graduates and Advisors, while working with senior clients, technical specialists and multidisciplinary teams across GHD.

Skills Required
