About this Opportunity:
As a Senior Advisor Consultant, you will be responsible for representing Orion in its sales efforts to promote its managed account platform to Independent Financial Advisors and Registered Investment Advisors. This position works to increase sales within region by further developing the top ~20% of clients and increasing share of wallet. The Senior Advisor Consultant will coordinate and align all activities within for the Regional Team to achieve the agreed upon goals of the territory. In this role, you’ll get to:
Collaborate with sales management in development, implementation and execution of territory sales plans resulting in increase in sales of both core and qualified plan assets, as well as retention of those same assets to achieve sales goals
Represent Orion and its products to advisors knowledgeably and effectively enabling advisors to clearly identify benefits of Orion products relative to its competitors; cross-sell products, e.g. advisor studios, as applicable
Strategize with and provide advice to representatives in designing ideal business plan resulting in retention and growth of current AUM; maintain and nurture existing relationships
Capitalize on referrals in order to increase sales in territory; use channels efficiently to build relationships
Contact representatives following onsite visits to provide additional information, obtain feedback and utilize needs- based selling techniques to inquire about additional product needs
Ensure receipt of excellent customer service with focus representatives, including expectations are being met and managed
Monitor, complete and analyze daily/weekly/quarterly sales goals and activity reports to ensure accuracy and to inform sales management of activities within territory in a timely manner
Ensure discretionary expenses and travel stay within budget
Meet agreed upon sales activity goals
Attend ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of all markets and industry developments
Maintain and update contact database including prospect information and activity in sales automation tools; maintain reports of existing competitor's products
Attend and participate in development and sponsorship of conferences, multi-manager roadshows, multi-strategist lunches, and Lunch-and-Learns with registered representatives, TPAs, etc.; use various strategies to maximize attendance at conferences and roadshows
Partner with Marketing in development of campaigns, newsletters, quarterly market reviews and sharing of ideas
We’re looking for talent who:
Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in a field-based territory sales position selling financial services offerings to Registered Representatives, TPAs, etc.
Has a minimum of 2 years of experience building and maintaining a customer account base
Possess experience in the financial planning industry
Has a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
Current Investment Adviser Representative license (Series 65 or Series 7 & 66).
Obtain Orion Industry Certification
Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
