About the Team

The Business & Tax Advisory team is shaping the future of tax and business advisory, and we're looking for talented professionals to grow with us. We help private businesses, start-ups, family groups and listed companies thrive.

Your Opportunity

As a Senior Adviser, you will work as part of a collaborative team to deliver tax compliance and business advisory services to a diverse range of clients. You will build your technical capabilities across tax and accounting matters while developing strong client service and relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for a small business
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other compliance obligations.
  • Support the delivery of tax compliance and advisory engagements.
  • Assist with Division 7A compliance, trust distribution calculations and tax planning activities.
  • Develop an understanding of different business structures, including companies, trusts, partnerships and corporate groups.
  • Support private businesses and family groups with accounting, tax and business advisory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate client records and working papers.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality outcomes and timely delivery of work.
  • Build effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in ongoing technical and professional development activities.

Your Experience

To be successful, you will bring:

  • 1-3 years' experience in Business Services & Tax, Public Practice or Professional Services.
  • Exposure to preparing financial statements, income tax returns and BAS.
  • Foundational knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with a range of entity structures, including companies, trusts and partnerships, is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

Qualifications

  • Currently studying towards a CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
