The Role
The Mobilization Department seeks a Senior Advertising Strategist to join the record-breaking DNC ads program. You’ll take a front seat leading the production, trafficking, and optimization of hundreds of ad campaigns, driving both creative innovation and scale to elect Democrats nationwide. Ideal candidates have demonstrated experience in creative strategy and data-driven decision-making and will have at least one year of hands-on advertising experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the development of ad campaigns from conceptualization to launch: Become an expert ideator, copywriter, collaborator with our design and video teams, ad trafficker, and rapid responder in big moments.
  • Lead daily ad optimizations, taking great care to ensure ad spend aligns with performance benchmarks and broader fundraising goals.
  • Analyze large swaths of performance data to monitor long-term trends and areas of growth for our program, identify and share fundraising insights, and compile detailed reports to drive future strategy and inform stakeholders.
  • Closely monitor emerging trends in the political fundraising space, identify areas where our program can grow, and test new audience strategies, visual formats, and messaging angles.
  • Usher ad campaigns through a complex approvals process, developing key internal relationships and sharing feedback with the wider team.
  • Write direct-to-camera scripts for a wide range of principal voices and audiences.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of hands-on experience buying ads on Meta Ads Manager and/or Google Ads Manager.
  • Track record of creative innovation: You are motivated to conceptualize and develop the next million-dollar ad campaign that inspires supporters to donate.
  • Background writing strong, concise, and persuasive copy tailored to different messengers, audiences, and goals.
  • Demonstrated experience making pivot tables and other visualizations to analyze data in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Stellar attention to detail: You catch typos, grammatical errors, broken links, and extra zeros, and are capable of maintaining ambitious timelines and organized systems.
  • Effective communicator: You ask questions, proactively seek help when you need it, and are excited to work on a highly collaborative team.
  • Receptive and adaptable to feedback.
  • Must be in or be willing to relocate to D.C. and work in person most days of the week.
  • Willing to work late evenings, weekends, and on a rapid response basis to capitalize on significant moments.

Preference is given for:

  • Experience in advertising and fundraising on a campaign, at an agency, or a non-profit
