Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Engineer – Scroll Compressor

If you are an experienced advanced manufacturing engineering professional with solid mechanical technical background looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting platform for you! Based in Suzhou, China.

This position acts as the core role for new product project launch and full process qualify control of the scroll compressor. The incumbent will integrate project management & quality engineering responsibilities, driving new product, design verification, process validation, quality issue closure, and cross-border project delivery. This role bridges R&D planning, engineering, plant operation team including ME, quality, production, supply chain, safety to ensure smooth project milestone delivery and stable small batch production quality.

As Sr. AME Engineer of Compressor, you will:

•  Collaborate closely with the Suzhou Engineering team, Procurement, SQE, and Planning teams to monitor project progress, manage changes, follow up project milestones including prototype trial, process verification, performance test, and mass production release.

•  Conduct feasibility assessments of product design and manufacturing processes in collaboration with the R&D team, ensuring manufacturability and industrialization readiness.

•  Organize internal cross-functional meetings, synchronize project risks, and issue weekly& monthly project progress reports.

• Maintain effective communication and coordination with the global AMT team to ensure alignment of technology standards and best practices.

•  Work closely with Operations to understand business needs and provide comprehensive solutions, including process optimization, information systems, and material flow systems.

•   Ensure manufacturing processes are developed to meet requirements in safety, cycle time, footprint, capacity, quality, operability, and maintainability.

•  Lead preliminary manufacturing quality control plan, including PFMEA, quality risk identifies, process poka-yoke, advanced drawing check. Conduct risk assessment and build preventive control plans in manufacture readiness level gate review.

•  Ensure full compliance with corporate EHS regulations and requirements to guarantee the safety of equipment, processes, and personnel.

•  Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required education, experience and skills:

•  More than 10 years’ experience in related profession. Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing, Material or related disciplines; compressor or precision machinery industry experience is preferred

•  Have both new product project promotion experience and on-site quality engineering experience, familiar with mechanical development project process

•  Proficient in mechanical drawings, GD&T, machining tolerance, precision assembly, and compressor structural matching principles

•  Skilled in quality tools: 8D,5why, FMEA,SPC, risk analysis and problem closed-loop management

•  Familiar with manufacturing standard management, ES document iteration, trial verification and mass production release process.

•  Capable of cross-team and cross-border communication, able to independently drive project progress and quality improvement

•  Good technical English skills for overseas project alignment, document review and customer communication

•  Rigorous, result-oriented, strong on-site execution, able to handle multi-task projects under tight schedules.
