Serves as a technical contact for customers, supports production and fielded hardware, develops engineering processes, contributes to new product opportunities, and mentors engineering personnel.

As a Senior Advanced Combustion Engineer in the Combustor design group at Honeywell Aerospace, you will use your expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes and tools to support our engine programs and Advanced Technology projects. You will be responsible for helping to lead our combustor analysis and test activities while helping to support production and our hardware in the field.  You are the point of contact for external customers and will help to develop and define engineering processes in your area of expertise. You may participate in development of new business opportunities and product lines.

You will report to our Senior Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

•    6 or more years of relevant experience in lieu of relevant advanced degrees

WE VALUE
•    M.S. with at least 4+ relevant years experience
•    Ph.D. with at least 0-2 years experience
•    Working understanding of gas turbine combustion design
•    Working understanding of reacting flows, pollutant modeling, computational fluid dynamics and turbulence
•    Working understanding of thermo-mechanical fatigue, creep, crack propagation and erosion
•    Working proficiency of Ansys Mechanical, Ansy Fluent, Siemens NX
•    Advanced Engineering Certifications
•    Strong communication skills
•    Growth mindset
•    Ability to lead, motivate, develop and mentor others
•    Significant experience in related field
•    Working understanding of AI/ML concepts as it applies to engineering disciplines.
•    Working familiarity of INCOSE 15288 (or equivalent) system engineering frameworks with focus on component level design requirement decomposition, verification/validation and interface definitions.
•    Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment
•    Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
•    Effectively operate in a matrix organization
•    Experience working in global teams across time zones
•    Track record of successful contribution to products & projects
