  • Compensation – We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation programs and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range, based on data-driven market analysis, for each job posting. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role in Washington, DC (Headquarters) is $80,900/year -- $117,700/year. Team members may also be eligible for performance-based discretionary awards.

  • Work Location – Staff will be assigned to the Washington, DC (Headquarters) office or another office as approved by the PCAOB.

Position Summary

The PCAOB has a full-time position for a Senior Accounts Payable Analyst in the Office of Finance at its Washington, DC office.  The Senior Accounts Payable Analyst will lead the work on processing all the company's invoices and non-employee expense reimbursement activities. In addition, the Senior Accounts Payable Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, tracking and reporting of the PCAOB’s invoice processing and payment metrics. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Accounts Payable Operations and be responsible for working independently and proactively identifying continuous process improvement and efficiency opportunities leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) activities by ensuring that all tasks are completed by the established deadlines and escalating matters as appropriate.

  • Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders regularly to resolve payment issues and discrepancies outstanding.

  • Regularly monitor invoices in process and take initiative to identify any challenges in advance and address those to prevent late payments.

  • Serve as a trusted resource for Accounts Payable matters by independently researching issues, interpreting applicable policies and procedures, and recommending resolutions.

  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries within timeframes and key metrics set by the Manager, Accounts Payable Operations. Consistently provide analysis and/or supporting documentation to stakeholders.

  • Lead and/or co-lead month-end, quarterly, and year-end responsibilities, including but not limited to providing support for fixed assets (such as obtaining documentation to facilitate three-way matching) and assisting with the compilation of accrued expenses and prepaid expenses.

  • Assist with vendor onboarding, vendor master-file maintenance, vendor inquiries, and vendor risk-management activities in accordance with PCAOB policies and internal controls.

  • Perform all assigned tasks in compliance with PCAOB policy, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards.

  • Ensure recurring payments are processed for vendors in accordance with contractual terms and company policies.

  • Assist with and/or co-lead aspects of annual audit of AP key controls.

  • Respond to questions and help update internal control processes, procedures, process narratives, and supporting documentation.

  • Assist with and/or co-lead aspects of system enhancements, testing, upgrades, and process improvements in collaboration with other colleagues.

  • Proactively use innovation, automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools to drive efficiencies in day-to-day work, identify process improvement opportunities, and recommend changes to management.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage technology, automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve Accounts Payable processes, strengthen controls, reduce manual work, and enhance stakeholder service and lead implementation of approved recommendations.

  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and trends related to Workday Finance and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improve performance, user experience, and business value.

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Technical Expertise

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in leading Accounts Payable and general ledger transactions.

  • Experience effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of deliverables with limited supervision while escalating issues appropriately.

  • Superior technical, regulatory, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday Financials, Concur, and PowerBI.

  • Experience supporting SOX, ICFR, audit-readiness activities, or other internal-control frameworks.

  • Experience using data analytics, dashboards, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve finance processes, controls, reporting, and stakeholder service.

  • Experience using AI for business process innovation.
