About the role
As our Senior Accounting Specialist, you will manage financial records, perform account reconciliations, and maintain accurate supporting documentation. You will support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies, prepare financial reports, and work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data while continuously improving accounting processes.
Responsibilities
1. Monthly Closing & Financial Reporting
- Perform monthly closing activities for lending business entities.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, amortization, reclass, and adjustment entries.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and P&L analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly financial statements.
2. Loan & Revenue Accounting
- Handle accounting treatment for loan disbursement, repayment, outstanding principal, interest income, admin fee, platform fee, and other lending-related revenue.
- Reconcile loan system data against GL, bank statement, and operational reports.
- Review revenue recognition accuracy, including accrued revenue, cash repayment, and fee amortization where applicable.
3. Reconciliation & Control
- Perform daily/monthly reconciliation for bank accounts, escrow accounts, borrower/lender balances, AR/AP, settlement accounts, and suspense accounts.
- Investigate unreconciled items and coordinate with product, data, operation, treasury, and business teams.
- Maintain clean aging and proper documentation for all reconciling items.
4. ECL, Provision & Write-Off Support
- Support ECL calculation, loan impairment booking, write-off, recovery, and related accounting entries.
- Work closely with risk/data team to validate loan portfolio movement and DPD information.
- Prepare supporting schedules for auditors and management review.
5. Audit & Compliance Support
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, and explanation for external auditors.
- Support OJK/regulatory reporting requirements where relevant.
- Ensure accounting treatment is aligned with PSAK/IFRS and company policy.
6. Process Improvement
- Improve closing checklist, reconciliation templates, and accounting SOP.
- Identify accounting gaps in lending product flow and propose control improvements.
- Support system enhancement or automation for accounting and reconciliation process.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience in accounting/audit/finance.
- Experience in financial services, preferably P2P lending, multifinance, bank, leasing, or fintech.
- Strong understanding of PSAK/IFRS, especially financial instruments, revenue recognition, accruals, and impairment/ECL.
- Strong reconciliation skill: bank, GL, loan system, escrow, AR/AP, settlement.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skill: pivot, lookup, sumifs, data validation, aging, reconciliation.
- Comfortable working with high-volume transaction data.
- Able to prepare audit schedules and explain accounting treatment to auditors.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and able to meet tight monthly closing deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Big 4 / mid-tier audit background.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP.
- Familiar with SQL / Looker / basic data extraction.
- Understanding of OJK lending/multifinance reporting.
- Experience with intercompany transactions and consolidation support.
