Duties/Responsibilities:
- Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the AP unit.
- Ensures all policies and procedures are implemented.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve difficult AP related problems.
- Superior follow-up skills to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Directs and coordinates activities of employees engaged in conducting accounts payable processing and inquiries.
- Daily interaction with customers and vendors
- Routinely involved with sales and purchasing as well as warehouse supervisors.
- Reconciles general ledger activity of related AP accounts.
- Assists with accounts receivable by supporting and maintaining customer accounts.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent mathematical skills, with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience with ERP systems strongly preferred.
- Associate’s degree in accounting
- Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in accounting or related area
