About this Role:
 
We are looking to hire a Senior Accounting Manager to help oversee the company’s accounting operations while also performing key hands-on accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage the accounting function while also handling preparation of reconciliations, month-end close activities and reporting deliverables.  

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end Close & Accounting Operations 
  • Manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness 
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules 
  • Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax and payroll processing functions, stepping in to assist where needed 
  • Complete day-to-day treasury functions 
  • Partner with Revenue Operations and Customer Success to implement processes for accurate invoicing 
  • Assist with preparation of data reconciliation between CRM (Salesforce) and billing system (Maxio) 
  • Work closely with People Ops team to understand expected changes to headcount and related accounting impact 
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis 
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and other financial reporting schedules required by executive leadership team 
  • Coordinate with subsidiary accounting personnel to maintainan accurate understanding of subsidiary activity and intercompany transactions  
  • Review monthly subsidiary financials to ensure intercompany transactions are accounted for correctly and eliminated upon consolidation 
  • Support budgeting and forecasting through collaboration with FP&A and department leads 
  • Compliance and Process Improvement 
  • Coordinate with third-party tax service providers in preparation of annual tax returns to ensure deadlines are met  
  • Coordinate with auditors for completion of statutory audits where applicable 
  • Identify and implement changes to the close process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Maintain and enhance internal accounting policies 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and active CPA license 
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience  
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP 
  • Highly detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Experience managing multiple, disaggregated tasks and bringing them to completion 
  • Skilled in financial reporting and analysis 
  • Experience leading a financial close process 
  • Experience in overseeing G/L functions (QuickBook experience is a plus) 
  • Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on execution in a lean, dynamic team environment 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the software or SaaS industry 
  • Public accounting experience 
  • Experience with foreign operations or accounting for foreign currencies 
  • Knowledge of tax law and regulatory compliance 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive Base Salary: $105,000 - $130,000 based on experience and location.

What to Expect in the Interview Process

Our interview process is designed to help us understand how you think, analyze problems, and collaborate across teams. It also gives you an opportunity to learn more about our Finance team, our business, and what it is like to work at Patch My PC.

Throughout the process we evaluate both technical capabilities and alignment with our core values. These values guide how we work together, support our customers, and continue to grow as a company.

Step 1: Initial Screen
A 20-30 minute conversation with our Talent team to learn more about your background, experience and career goals. We will also share more about Patch My PC, our culture and how our values guide the way we work.

Step 2: Hiring Manager Interview
A conversation with the hiring manager focused on your experience managing accounting operations, leading month-end close processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and cross-functional collaboration. This discussion also provides an opportunity to learn more about the team, current priorities, and expectations for the role.

Step 3: Team Interview
A collaborative interview with members of the Finance team focused on accounting operations, problem-solving, attention to detail, and process improvement. Candidates may be asked to discuss prior experience with close management, consolidations, audit coordination, reconciliations, ERP or accounting systems, and how they approach improving accounting processes in a growing organization.

Step 4: Cross Functional and Leadership Conversations
The next stage includes conversations with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. In addition to discussing experience and communication style, we focus on collaboration, accountability, adaptability, and how you contribute to a team environment grounded in humility, ownership, empathy, and delivering excellence.

Step 5: Final Conversation with Our CEO
As a final step candidates may meet with our CEO and Founder Justin Chalfant. This conversation focuses on our mission, culture, and values and gives you the opportunity to ask questions about the company vision and the impact our team is working to create.

Most interviews are conducted virtually. In some cases we may invite candidates to participate in an in person conversation or onsite visit, depending on the role, location, and stage of the process.
