Latitude AI (lat.ai) develops automated driving technologies, including L3, for Ford vehicles at scale. We’re driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it’s like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone.
When you join the Latitude team, you’ll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering – all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people.
As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif.
Meet the team:
You will be joining the Finance team at Latitude and reporting to the Director of Finance. We are a high-performing, lean organization spanning Accounting, Procurement, Payroll, and FP&A, with a small Accounting team you'll help lead. Because our team is small, we operate with a highly collaborative, low-ego mindset — leaning on each other often, sharing context, pitching in during month-end close or audit crunches, and staying tightly aligned as priorities shift.
That said, collaboration doesn't mean hand-holding: you won't be micromanaged here. You'll be given true ownership over the accounting function, the latitude to make judgment calls, and the space to build processes your way. Your work will be highly visible, your decisions will directly impact our operations with Ford, and you'll have a direct hand in shaping how the accounting function scales as Latitude AI grows.
What you’ll do:
Financial Execution & Month-End Close
- Execute and Manage Accounting: Serve as the primary, hands-on professional responsible for performing day-to-day accounting operations, including the execution of the general ledger, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
- Close Management: Take full ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities and timelines, ensuring deadlines are consistently met with accurate, audit-ready financial packages
- Account Reconciliations: Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Intercompany & Consolidations: Manage and execute intercompany billings, cross-entity ledger reconciliations, multi-currency transactions, and balance settlements
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with FP&A and business partners to support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage 1 direct report overseeing AP and T&E functions, including performance management and development. Serve as the face of Latitude Accounting and a mentor across the broader Finance organization, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability
Governance, Controls, Tax & Treasury
- Subsidiary Governance: Act as the primary point of contact for Ford’s corporate finance teams on operational accounting matters and interface directly with external tax advisors
- Internal Controls: Support the continuous testing, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls to align with corporate risk standards and support SOX compliance efforts
- Tax & Treasury Support: Partner with external tax advisors for reporting compliance; assist with banking administration workflows as required
Systems & Process Optimization
- System Ownership: Serve as a functional power user for NetSuite, ensuring smooth optimization of accounting workflows, chart of accounts maintenance, and clean data flow
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate close processes, accounting workflows, and reporting
What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience, with a proven track record of independently running or heavily driving a monthly close cycle
- Direct, hands-on proficiency in NetSuite is required. Advanced capabilities in Google Sheets/Excel are essential for handling financial data
- Strong core accounting foundation with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, journal entry preparation, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Direct experience supporting multi-entity structures, including hands-on intercompany billing processes
- High autonomy and a self-starting mindset. Demonstrated ability to self-direct work, manage competing priorities, and protect the close timeline end-to-end without needing daily oversight
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Nice to have:
- Active CPA designation is strongly preferred
- A blend of public accounting (audit at a Big 4 or regional firm) and hands-on private industry experience within a fast-paced technology, startup, or automotive/engineering environment
- Prior experience managing multi-entity consolidations, currency revaluations, and accounting close mechanics for complex corporate group structures
- Previous experience supporting internal controls documentation, workflow design, and testing for an audit (SOX compliance)
