The Sr. Accounting Director is responsible for overseeing all accounting and payroll functions within the organization. This role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The Sr. Accounting Director will lead a team of accounting and payroll professionals, manage financial audits, and work closely with senior management to support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and payroll leadership and a strong background in using NetSuite ERP and Payroll systems.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee the G/L close process and preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and standards.
- Manage the annual audit process, including liaising with external auditors and implementing audit recommendations.
- Manage monthly debt reporting.
- Actively engage and collaborate with cross functional teams and leadership to ensure business objectives and priorities are met and executed effectively.
- Develop and implement strategies to systematically scale the global payroll operations and related systems while maintaining quality, accuracy, internal controls and compliance.
- Oversee teams of domestic and international payroll full cycle processing for US and International subsidiaries.
- Ensure quarterly and annual filings and reporting requirements are executed with accuracy and are filed timely.
- Manage global bank accounts including liaising with banks for KYC requests as needed.
- Manage intercompany transfers and intercompany balances to ensure optimal balances by account.
- Manage external tax providers to ensure timely tax filings across global jurisdictions.
- Work with CAO to understand global tax strategy and align accounting operations to deliver on the tax strategy.
- Oversee the management and enhancement of accounting systems, with a focus on NetSuite ERP.
- Evaluate and implement system improvements to streamline financial processes and reporting.
- Ensure optimal use of NetSuite for financial operations, reporting, and analysis.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Review and improve accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What We're Looking For:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Account, Finance or a related field.
- Licensed CPA.
- Required: Minimum of 12+ years of accounting experience, with at least 7 years in a managerial or director-level/Controller role.
- Experience with NetSuite is required.
