Job Title: Senior Accountant

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to take ownership of our payroll processing and general ledger functions. This role is ideal for a skilled accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident working independently on key financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Perform regular GL entries and adjustments and maintain detailed documentation to support transactions.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely, accurate payments and compliance with all tax and labor regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, tax forms, and time reporting.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and analytics for management as needed.
  • Assist with external audits by providing supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts with reliable historical data and insights.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, including direct responsibility for payroll and general ledger functions.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Understanding of U.S. payroll laws.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with additional accounting tools or platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Asana, Tungsten, Ramp).
