Job Title: Senior Accountant
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to take ownership of our payroll processing and general ledger functions. This role is ideal for a skilled accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident working independently on key financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Perform regular GL entries and adjustments and maintain detailed documentation to support transactions.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely, accurate payments and compliance with all tax and labor regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, tax forms, and time reporting.
- Prepare payroll-related reports and analytics for management as needed.
- Assist with external audits by providing supporting schedules and documentation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts with reliable historical data and insights.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, including direct responsibility for payroll and general ledger functions.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop.
- Understanding of U.S. payroll laws.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with additional accounting tools or platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Asana, Tungsten, Ramp).
