Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will help in all areas of accounting for JSI and its subsidiaries. The Senior Accountant will be involved in the day-to-day accounting operations, the month-end close process, including generating financial statements, preparing account reconciliations, performing variance analysis, executing internal controls, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting information, and reporting financial results to management. The position reports to the Controller.
As a Senior Accountant, you will help in all areas of accounting for JSI and its subsidiaries. The Senior Accountant will be involved in the day-to-day accounting operations, the month-end close process, including generating financial statements, preparing account reconciliations, performing variance analysis, executing internal controls, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting information, and reporting financial results to management. The position reports to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end journal entries over multiple business units within NetSuite.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations and related schedules.
- Create fixed assets and prepaid expense transactions within the ERP along with related depreciation and amortization records.
- Assist with external audit requests.
- Prepare sale tax returns for multiple states.
- Assist with monthly reporting variance analysis.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting required
- Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience
- General working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent Excel skills and ability to utilize other IT systems and related data sets
- Experience with ERP accounting software, NetSuite ERP experience is strongly preferred
