Who You Are

As a Senior Accountant at OnMed, you are a detail-oriented accounting professional who takes a lead role in the month-end close cycle and the integrity of the Company’s financial records. You bring hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timeliness are non-negotiable. You collaborate seamlessly across functions, contributing the same rigor and reliability to payroll processing and compliance activities as you do to core accounting operations. The Company is at an important inflection point in its growth trajectory, and you are energized at the opportunity to be on the core crew of a rocket ship.

Role’s Responsibilities 

Month-End Close & General Ledger

  • Take a lead role in executing the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries, consistently meeting close deadlines.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate and timely recording of transactions, ensuring all entries are properly supported and classified.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations each period, investigating and resolving discrepancies before financial statements are finalized. 

Financial Reporting

  • Assist with the preparation of audited financial statements and related schedules in accordance with GAAP, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring all supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Compile period-over-period comparisons and key account commentary to support management reporting, providing clear explanations of significant variances.
  • Assist with monthly expense reporting for senior management.

Accounting Operations

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements within the accounting function to support the Controller in enhancing efficiency and accuracy across the close cycle.
  • Support accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets, maintaining schedules and ensuring proper recording and reconciliation each period.

Payroll Processing

  • Manage payroll processing activities, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees and consultants/independent contractors in compliance with regulatory requirements and Company policies.
  • Maintain payroll records, reconcile payroll accounts, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to address payroll-related inquiries and provide support as needed.
  • Administer sales incentive plans (SIPs) and commission programs, including calculating payouts, maintaining plan documentation, and ensuring timely and accurate distribution in alignment with plan terms.  

Tax, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting principles, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist in assessing financial risks and internal controls, flagging potential gaps and recommending enhancements to mitigate risks and strengthen controls.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing documentation, addressing auditor inquiries, and assisting with the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Assist with the accurate calculation and remittance of federal, state, and local taxes, including managing multi-state tax registrations and staying current on changing state tax requirements.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, HR, Legal, and the senior leadership team, to support business initiatives and resolve financial-related issues.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by your manager at their direction from time to time.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with payroll processing software and familiarity with payroll tax regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications (NetSuite preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. 

Education & Experience

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting.

Nice-to-Haves

  • CPA Preferred

The base salary range for this role Is $90,000 - $100,000, commensurate with the candidate’s experience, plus an annual discretionary performance bonus.

This role is a hybrid role (3 days in the office and 2 days remote).

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, and payroll processing
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and financial reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards
  • Experience with payroll processing software (preferably ADP Workforce Now)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
