Essential duties and responsibilities:
Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and research/resolve reconciling items
- Review and investigate general ledger expense accounts for unusual charges
Prepare various schedules and reports for month and quarter end closing
Perform variance analysis and prepare commentary explaining period-over-period fluctuations
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
Review purchase requisitions for appropriate account coding
Set up new vendors in Oracle cloud and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained
Support budget and forecasting activities
Identify and make recommendations for continuous process improvement
Mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
Participate in special projects and perform other accounting duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field required
- 5+ years’ progressive experience at a Senior Accountant level, preferably with a publicly traded company
- Strong ERP and accounting systems experience required (Oracle a plus)
- Experience with any of the following preferred: Manufacturing environment, Global organization
Job Conditions: Hybrid office environment requiring three of five days work on site. Extra hours required during month-, quarter-, and year-end close and during other peak accounting times during the year.
Physical Demands/Strengths:
- Ability to sit at desk for prolonged periods; use of computer keyboard and telephone.
Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Hiring Salary Range: $95-$105K
