Senior Accountant
Position Summary:
Full time salaried position
Onsite based out of our Malvern, PA location
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting by performing general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role partners with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Catalent Micron Technologies Malvern facility specializes in particle size reduction technologies and integrated analytical services for the pharmaceutical industry. It is equipped with advanced systems to handle highly potent and cytotoxic compounds, and provide leading analytical services associated with particle size engineering and material characterization testing from early stage development to commercialization.
The Role:
Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, allocations, reclasses) with appropriate supporting documentation
Execute month-end close tasks in accordance with the close calendar, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned deliverables
Review general ledger activity for completeness and reasonableness; investigate variances and resolve posting errors and out-of-balance conditions
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring items are properly supported, aged, and resolved on a timely basis
Perform account analysis for assigned areas (e.g., cash, intercompany, accruals, prepaids) and propose correcting entries as needed
Support preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including flux analysis and key account commentary for assigned areas
Execute and document key controls (including SOX controls, where applicable) and support control owners with evidence requests and remediation actions

The Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, required
CPA and/or CMA preferred (or progress toward certification); experience in a regulated or SOX environment, preferred
Minimum three years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger responsibilities and month-end close
Hands-on experience preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and performing account analysis/flux analysis, required
Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control concepts; experience supporting internal and/or external audits, required
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); ability to work with large data sets and maintain accurate supporting schedules, required
Experience using ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE, NetSuite) to research transactions and support close and reporting activities, required
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pound
