Our Accounting Team is seeking a Senior Accountant. You will play a key role in the accounting department performing month end close processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting management with timely financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of accounting principles, and a strong ability to collaborate across departments. The successful candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, able to prioritize and solve problems independently and collaboratively. The essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting and applying U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), government contract accounting and company policies and procedures in the completion of tasks.
  • Performing month-end accounting close tasks, including preparing financial entries and related analysis to properly account for prepaid and accrued expenses, inventory, fixed assets, leases, patents, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and ensure all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger and related information such as additions, disposals, physical locations and tagging of assets.
  • Monitor construction-in-progress (CIP) projects and coordinate timely capitalization with project managers.
  • Perform other related duties to support the month, quarter, and year-end accounting closes.
  • Maintain financial data and documentation in accordance with U.S. GAAP and government contract accounting and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with documentation of company policies and procedures for accounting processes.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc projects or duties, including system updates, financial analysis, etc.
  • Develop relationships with team members built on trust and respect.

Education and work experience requirements are:

  • 3 or more years of accounting experience performing similar duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA (or CPA candidate) and public accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience with QAD/EAM, system upgrades and U.S. government contract accounting a plus.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills with an ability to effectively plan and prioritize, including taking initiative and meeting deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and efficient.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a high degree of flexibility, strong process orientation and exercising good judgment.
  • Team-oriented with proactive, solutions-driven approach.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch, talk and hear.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, etc.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional requirements are:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Monday through Friday business hours.

TrellisWare Technologies pays competitively according to the market in an individual's geographic location, in addition to their qualifications and experience. The posted range is annually and for individuals located in the San Diego, CA area.
