We’re excited about building out our finance and accounting function and are seeking versatile, adaptable and collaborative Senior Accountants to join our highly skilled team. You will utilize your accounting knowledge and experience to ensure best practices and standards are met on a regular basis as Porch builds its internal processes. We have a variety of accountant roles including opportunities in revenue accounting, our insurance division, and shared services (corporate).
What You Will Do As A Senior Accountant
With limited manager direction, work independently, performing professional accounting activities related to general accounting,, etc.
Reconcile account balances for assigned balance sheet accounts to provide underlying support, and either independently or with the assistance of others research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare and process accounting journal entries for assigned accounts within established deadlines. Work with others within Accounting, Finance or across the organization as needed to obtain necessary details behind accounting entries or to resolve any discrepancies.
Prepare assigned flux comments related to the income statement and balance sheet
Take initiative to become proficient in general ledger system and other reporting tools to run trial balances or account details to aid in research or refining processes. Develop solid understanding of accounting processes and controls.
Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.
Prepare financial data as directed and assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Support management with ad hoc requests.
Partner with internal teams to maintain processes and controls related to assigned areas of work.
Participate in the annual, quarterly, and monthly process with SOX and internal audit teams.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles.
What You Will Bring As A Senior Accountant
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Minimum of 4 years’ work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.
Prior NetSuite and FloQast experience a plus.
Proven experience working with US based business teams
Excellent written and communication skills in English
Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
Revenue team requirements: IFRS15 or ASC 606 experience. Solid understanding of US GAAP or IFRS.
Shared Services requirements: Knowledge of Fixed Assets, Accruals, Lease accounting, accounting for Payroll and Accounts Payable, Intercompany Accounting, Prepaids, Capitalized Software and debt.

Pay Range: INR 1,012,500 - INR 1,417,500
