Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for all technical accounting matters - including IFRS15 and Capitalised Development Costs
- Perform analytical reviews of the monthly financials, investigating variances, identifying trends, and providing insights to support accurate revenue recognition and accurate financial reporting
- Support the Finance Manager with the month-end close, including month end accruals, tax and revenue-related journals
- Develop, enforce, and continuously improve internal billing controls to ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition
- Serve as a secondary owner for key billing and revenue processes, supporting the configuration, monitoring, and reconciliation of billing activities within Zuora and Salesforce platforms.
- Prepare and support tax filings globally for indirect tax obligations in Australia, United States, United Kingdom and Canada
- Assist with billing audits by testing billing workflows and controls, identifying discrepancies and supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Support the external group audit by responding to queries and preparing key workpapers.
Skills & Experience
- CA or CPA qualified with 5+ years’ experience in accounting, ideally within SaaS or global organisations.
- Experience working in a fast growing tech or start up environment
- Experience with global tax compliance and filings especially US Sales Tax
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS 15, IAS 38, AASB 16
- Proven experience with multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
- Experience in NetSuite, Zuora, Salesforce, and ERP/billing systems would be advantageous.
- Proven experience supporting or leading month-end close processes, including journal preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Analytical, proactive, and comfortable working across time zones in a hybrid team.
