Why is the Senior Accountant role important at Infobip?
The Regional Senior Accountant is a key member of the North America Finance team, responsible for assisting the North America Head of Finance in implementing strong accounting internal control processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining compliance with local, state, federal and global regulations, and providing valuable accounting input for senior management’s decision-making. The Regional Senior Accountant will collaborate and work closely with our Financial Shared Services center and corporate partners on the preliminary due diligence, checks and balances, control, accurate execution and completion of month-end processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of the monthly accounts for the North American entities (US and Canada). Ultimately, the Regional Senior Accountant will ensure books are closed accurately and within close calendar target dates.
The Regional Senior Accountant will be a functional subject matter expert assisting and representing the regional Finance team on regional and corporate cross-functional projects. In this role, the Regional Senior Accountant will research complex accounting and reporting issues and collaborate with business partners to collect relevant information. The goal in this role is to support and help optimize the financial reporting and technical accounting functional workstream. The Regional Senior Accountant will communicate and coordinate, as needed, with internal & external stakeholders, including auditors and tax compliance vendors. This position reports to the Regional Head of Finance – North America who is based in Chicago. We are looking for an energetic, self-sufficient, problem-solving, solution-oriented, reliable individual who will be able to achieve individual goals as well as contribute to both regional & HQ corporate goals.
**We are looking to hire ideally near our Jersey City or Chicago Office, but are open to remote employees. ** If hired near our office, the position will be Hybrid (3x in the office)**
What you'll do
Be the key point of contact for leaders and business partners on accounting topics and serve as a Controller of accounting principles for the North America region.
Successfully implement (or improve) processes, financial reporting reviews, and reconciliations, ensuring all transactions in North America are recorded properly in accordance with US GAAP. You ensure accurate reconciliation of statutory financial statements with the group’s GAAP reports.
Manage both legal entity and regional management accounting.
Ensure that tax considerations are built into transaction records.
Manage relationships with external tax accountants; ensuring taxes are filed and all escrows are funded in a timely fashion.
Participate in the preparation and creation of basic financial reports, statistical reports, final accounts, and other company reports.
Ensure accounting policies are compliant and actively monitor accounting rule changes that impact on our business.
Work closely with the North America Head of Finance, ensuring the smooth running of all financial matters. In addition, work closely with other finance support teams, including the Shared Services Center, Revenue Assurance, Purchase to Pay, Cost Assurance, and Treasury.
You support the North America Head of Finance in the process of analysis and approval of annual FS, tax returns, and other financial and compliance reports.
You ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial and business information to the local BPOs.
You assist with preparing monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets for specific projects, and other planning activities.
You assist with preparing periodic management reports which contain key information for decision making process, such as historical financial analysis, variance explanations, updated forecasts with risks & opportunities, KPIs, etc.
You resolve disputes and inquiries from other departments.
You participate in major department projects and participate in cross-functional teams that help improve quality, processes, and initiatives.
You assist in annual audit preparations, tax provisions, internal and external audits as needed.
You investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
More about you
Having at least 5-8 years of experience in Accounting
Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Accounting
Working knowledge of basic tax laws and US GAAP
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and ERP software systems. Working knowledge and experience using D365 is helpful.
Strong financial analysis and financial reporting skills
Ability to work with little to no supervision. Naturally comfortable taking charge and is action-oriented.
Able to juggle priorities with ease. Nimble and flexible with shifting priorities.
Team player, able to work collaboratively with others.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to navigate through and creatively apply problem-solving
