The Role
Analytica is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role is responsible for leading core accounting operations—including month-end close, payroll, compliance audits, and financial system administration—and serves as a subject matter expert in Unanet and ADP. The Senior Staff Accountant partners closely with leadership, program managers, subcontractors, and external auditors to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial operations. In addition, this role provides pricing and proposal support for federal contracts and offers direct training and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Month-End Close
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and payroll.
- Perform reconciliations for operating accounts, money market accounts, and corporate credit cards.
- Process and review vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and billing cycles.
- Review labor charges (employee and subcontractor) for accuracy and compliance.
- Process payroll journal entries, deductions, and reporting in ADP.
- Manage third-party sick pay, 941 reconciliations, and multi-state payroll tax filings (e.g., NY).
- Resolve IRS and state tax notices; maintain state registrations.
- Ensure compliance with DCAA, FAR, GAAP, and other federal contracting requirements.
- Serve as lead/support for internal and external audits (financial, ICS, interim, PTO true-ups, benefit audits, project billing).
- Act as ICS (Internal Control System) lead for audit readiness and compliance reporting.
- Prepare reconciliations and documentation to support audit deliverables.
- Administer Unanet system: project setups, modifications, accrual plans, billing schedules, reporting, and analytics.
- Provide Unanet training for managers and employees, including dashboards, reporting, and error resolution.
- Develop and customize reports for leadership, project managers, and finance stakeholders.
- Support pricing, narratives, Q&A, data calls, and subcontractor rate negotiations for federal proposals.
- Provide financial data and cost models for bids and modifications.
- Provide oversight and training to junior accounting staff and interns.
- Collaborate with program managers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve AP/AR issues.
- Manage subcontractor relations and GSA fee reporting.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of employees and subcontractors.
- Mentor junior staff (e.g., training on Unanet, payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations).
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (3–4 years preferred).
- Strong experience with Unanet and ADP Workforce Now.
- Demonstrated month-end close experience.
- Full-cycle accounting skills across AP, AR, and Payroll.
- Government contracting experience strongly preferred, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DCAA compliance, and federal contract pricing.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with leadership, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
