The Role
Match Group is a leading provider of dating products available globally. Our portfolio includes Tinder, Match, OkCupid, Hinge, PlentyOfFish, and others, each designed to help singles find a meaningful connection.
We're seeking a Senior or Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team, with a primary focus on revenue-related journal entries. You will play a key role in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, and revenue operations. This position reports to an Accounting Manager and may evolve to include additional general ledger responsibilities based on business needs.
This role is a hybrid position. We work IRL in our Dallas office three days a week
How you'll make an impact:
- Prepare journal entries related to direct revenue and advertising revenue for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including revenue-related accounts.
- Process invoices for advertising revenue customers and partnerships.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve billing variances to ensure accurate financial records.
- Act as a liaison with customers, Business Development, and other internal teams on customer billing matters.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting by preparing schedules, roll-forward reports, and ad hoc analyses.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and assist in documenting updated procedures and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX, and SEC regulations.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Assist with special projects and additional general ledger accounting responsibilities as assigned.
We could be a match if:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
- You have 5+ years prior accounting experience with demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting, monthly financial close and account reconciliations.
- You have a strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting best practices.
- You have experience working with international entities and multi-currency transactions.
- You have exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- You have the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- You have advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
- You have prior experience in revenue accounting, particularly advertising or subscription-based revenue models.
