Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with internal and external reporting
- Manage bank reconciliations and oversee capital expenditures and reimbursement schedules
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly distributions, wire transfers, and approvals
- Support joint venture communications, including financial reviews, equity tracking, and cash flow modeling
- Ensure compliance with lender requirements and upload necessary reporting
- Assist with property tax, sales/use tax, and franchise tax filings
- Help develop and monitor property-level budgets and projections
- Participate in acquisitions, dispositions, and entity-level setups and closures
- Collaborate cross-functionally with asset managers, compliance, and investment teams
- Support vendor invoice processing and insurance claim tracking
- Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory bodies as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, ideally within real estate or affordable housing sectors
- Strong understanding of capital accounting, financial compliance, and JV structures
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with property management or accounting platforms (e.g., RealPage a plus)
- Comfortable working with internal stakeholders and third-party partners
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and project management skills
