Senior Accountant

Position Overview:
Original X Productions (OGX) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in our accounting team, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting, and supporting the financial health and growth of the company.
*This role is a remote role but most be located in the New York Tri-State area*
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain monthly general ledger entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all reconciling items are valid and accounted properly.
• Process accounts payable, reconcile to the general ledger, and communicate to vendors as needed.
• Review and monitor Divvy and all charge coding, ensuring proper categorization of expenses.
• Maintain CAPEX schedules and manage depreciation processes, ensuring that all capital expenditures are tracked and depreciated correctly according to company policy.
• Work closely with the Manager of Accounting on variance analysis to identify and explain differences between actuals and forecasts, providing actionable insights.
• Assist in various ad hoc projects as needed to support the finance team and company goals, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
• Manage the filing and remitting of end-of-year 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the entertainment or production industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Preferred Entertainment industry experience but not required.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and Bills.com preferred but not required.

The salary range for this role considers a range of variables used in making compensation decisions and may include but is not limited to; experience, training, licenses, certifications, skills sets, business needs, travel. Compensation decisions are dependent on the unique variables that are present, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 to $100,000. This range has not been adjusted based on the geographic location of the successful incumbent.
