What You'll Do
- Financial Close Process:
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Ensure accurate and timely production of financial reports.
- Maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Internal Controls:
- Ownership of drafting internal policies and procedures such as invoice processing, cash management, and expense policies.
- Treasury and Cash Management:
- Support cash forecasting and treasury operations.
- Assist in optimizing cash flow and fund allocation strategies.
- Maintain and enhance banking relationships, ensuring cost-effective banking solutions and services.
- Oversee foreign exchange (FX) transactions and reporting requirements with BSP.
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and prepare mandatory filings, payments, and documentation.
- Provide basic tax support, including understanding and applying Philippine tax laws to transactions and operations.
- Assist in preparation and provision of supporting documentations as preparation for tax assessments.
- Ownership of annual business permit renewal process.
- Audit Support:
- Work closely with external auditors, including Big 4 firms, to facilitate smooth audit processes.
- Ownership of end-to-end audit process for PH entities.
- Product Launch Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare accounting memos for new products, documenting accounting requirements and regulatory considerations.
- Analyze the accounting impact of product features and ensure seamless integration into financial processes.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting workflows and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ad Hoc Projects:
- Take ownership of various projects and deliverables as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in financial close processes, tax compliance, and audit coordination
- Knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and accounting standards (PH GAAP/IFRS)
- Basic tax knowledge, including familiarity with tax filings, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks in the Philippines
- Proficiency in accounting systems, with experience in NetSuite being a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and experience managing large datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and quality
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A growth mindset, openness to feedback, and a team-oriented attitude
- Candidates residing near Tala's office in Makati are encouraged to apply
- Prior exposure to consumer finance or technology-driven environments is a plus
