Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%
These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.
About This Job
The Accounting group manages the general ledger (and related subsidiary ledgers) and develops the standards and administers the collection of data necessary to prepare financial reports required by our constituents. Accounting is responsible for internal controls over financial reporting and for controls that protect against misuse or misappropriation of assets. Data collected is compiled to provide reports to help manage and monitor the Company’s businesses and financial position in compliance with the established standards of the Company, generally accepted accounting principals (U.S. GAAP) and the Company’s regulators.
Responsibilities:
- Support Accounting Management by maintaining and updating a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and process documents
- Support Accounting Management working with our Introducing Broker Dealer group working on the integration between our BETA & Oracle systems.
- Prepare daily reconciliations of miscellaneous accounts on General Ledger
- Prepare / review daily cash reconciliations and investigate differences
- Prepare periodic, month-end, and quarter-end journal entries to properly account for general ledger and intercompany activity
- Prepare month-end reconciliations for general ledger accounts and quarter-end roll forward schedules
- Prepare financial and regulatory reporting schedules related to general ledger activity
- Provide business unit support for internal management reporting initiatives
- Collaborate with business units and accounting personnel on quarterly forecasting requirements
- Understand SOX documentation for accounting and other business units
- Ensure process documentation and desktop procedures are accurate and are updated as refinements to processes occur
- Assist with special projects as directed by Accounting Management
- Prepare support for independent public accounting auditors, regulators and internal auditors as directed by Accounting Management
- Provide analytics for accruals including how they interact between US GAAP, regulatory and SEC requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years minimum of general ledger (GL) accounting experience
- Broker dealer, securities, financial services, or banking industry experience preferred
- CPA or Series 7 preferred
- Oracle experience preferred
