Senior Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and various departments.

• Provide accurate and timely financial information to all stakeholders.

• Monthly Reporting and Analysis: Lead the monthly financial reporting and analysis for the manufacturing location, including budget-to-actual variances and future monthly forecasts.

• Cost Accounting: Create and maintain product Bill of Material and Routing, analyze manufacturing variance and support business efforts to reduce variances.

• General Ledger and Journal Entries: Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, and reconciling accounts.

• Audit Coordination: Coordinate annual audits and serve as the single point of contact with internal and external financial auditors.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budget preparations and forecasting

• Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) by verifying and reporting savings as well as track and report on efficiency improvements, including manufacturing and vendor performance.

• Inventory Management: Assist in inventory management and accuracy, including physical inventory and cycle counts.

• Ad-Hoc Analysis and Projects: Perform ad-hoc financial analysis or other related projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other business-related field, CPA preferred

• 3 to 7+ years of Cost Accounting or Manufacturing Accounting experience is required with demonstrated experience in performing Financial Analysis

• Experience with Hyperion and SAP financial software

• Knowledge of standard cost manufacturing systems and production variance analysis as well as IFRS reporting standards

• Energetic, forward-thinking with high ethical standards

• Ability to manage competing priorities and delivering on committed deadlines

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information, change initiatives and ideas to diverse audiences

• High level of customer focus and self-initiative
