Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This position under the direction of the Manager, Finance is responsible for assisting with the completion of month end close, account reconciliations, and preparing ad hoc reports, assisting with Company’s annual audit as well as 401(k) audit. Position will be assigned special projects and be expected to back-up other positions within the department. Duties may also include assisting with training and providing assistance to other staff members within the team.

This is a hybrid position that requires coming into our corporate office located in Brentwood, TN at minimum 3 days per week.

Accounts that would necessarily be part of the individuals ownership would be as follows:

  • Cash

  • Prepaid Expenses

  • Fixed Assets

  • Lease Accounting

  • Payroll liabilities

  • Equity

  • Debt

  • Equity

  • Intangibles

  • Equity Investments

  • Legal expense

  • Other

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Month-end and Year-end Close: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and setting up and monitoring recurring JEs.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Help to maintain the general ledger, ensure proper documentation and organization of financial records.

  • Financial Controls: Have basic knowledge and prepare work in accordance with financial controls. 

  • Audit Preparation: Prepare documents and schedules for external audits.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and automation in the department.

  • Supporter: Back-up other positions within the accounting department. As well as provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years of experience.

  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of GAAP.

  • Skillful in accounting software and ERP systems (Workday experience is a plus)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Access, and Excel).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial and company information.
