Become a pivotal member of our Finance team, where you’ll play a role in scaling our processes, maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of our organization. As a Senior Accountant, you'll report to the Controller and lead various accounting functions that are critical to our success.
What you'll be doing:
- Payroll, Accounts Receivable (AR) and Cash Management Duties: Execute day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
- Revenue Accounting: Lead the Order to Cash process encompassing billing, payment processing, affiliate commissions, reconciliations, system implementations and integrations, reporting and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
- Global Consolidation Management: Review intercompany billings from subsidiaries, maintain intercompany agreements and company policies and lead the global consolidation process including recording and reconciling intercompany transactions, post elimination entries and uploading subsidiary trial balances.
- Month-end Close Procedures: Support the overall month-end close process including independently preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis in meeting the month-end close schedule.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with different departments (e.g. Member Experience, Product, and Data) to support changes to the billing and payment process, and resolve technical billing and customer payout issues.
- Support the US Company’s Tax Compliance: Perform tasks such as registering new states, compiling tax data, and coordinating with external tax professionals to meet governmental deadlines.
- Process Improvements: Participate in improving the accounting policies, internal controls and procedures, ensuring scalability, standardization and operational efficiencies.
- Ad-Hoc Assignments: Be prepared to take on other duties or ad-hoc assignments as required, such as implementing new accounting systems and tools.
What you bring:
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with at least 5 years of proven accounting experience.
- Proficient with ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite) and advanced Excel skills (in Microsoft or Google sheets).
- Highly self-motivated and the ability to work autonomously in a remote-first environment.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to work cross-functionally and drive accounting led projects.
- Exceptional organization, multi-tasking and prioritization skills with proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Passionate about process and system optimization.
Extra points if you have:
- Familiarity with the SaaS industry or exposure to high-growth environments.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or candidate, or equivalent certification.
- Prior experience in revenue accounting, and/or bookkeeping with consolidating entities.
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers and ASC 810 Consolidation.
- Experience working with Netsuite, Recurly, Stripe, Paypal and Gusto.
