An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our Global Corporate Head Office based in the eastern suburbs. This is a HYBRID role.
Working alongside our Senior Finance team, the Senior Accountant position is a varied and challenging role that will partner with our manufacturing and supply chain business units. Leading a small team that are responsible for processing, supporting financial inputs, and producing financial results for a series of companies and trusts. In addition, the role will be working with our international banks, and customers. Some international travel will be involved.
Daniels is a large international business with operations across South Africa, UK, Canada, USA and Australia. Operational activities included transport, manufacturing of products, distribution, and treatment of healthcare waste. Daniels is a highly recognized brand in the healthcare space.
Daniels also has 2 large charities with over $50m invested, and a large growing property group and investment arm investing into direct investment, managed funds, and other PE type activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly reporting packs and associated reports for assigned business entities.
- Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliations and analyses after finalising end of month (all relevant entities)
- Maintain fixed asset registers
- Assistance with annual audit process
- Preparation of annual financial statements for relevant entities
- Prepare BAS Returns for assigned business entities in multiple jurisdictions
- Assist with the annual budget for assigned business entities
- Assist with cash flow and treasury for relevant entities
- Prepare reports as may be required by senior management
- Assist the team where necessary
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree majoring in accounting
- Minimum 4 years' of Accounting experience gained in a Public (Chartered) Accounting firm
- Good sense of humour
- Positive can do approach
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competent user of software packages and Microsoft Office software (advance Excel skills)
- Flexible and able to handle change easily
- Organised and works well in a team environment
- CPA/CA qualified
