Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Parma, Italy. This role is key to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial information. As a Senior Accountant at Fortna, you will play a key part in our day-to-day finance activities, ensuring that our financial reports are accurate and timely while supporting our broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process daily entries into our accounting systems.

Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries.

Support the monthly closing process and intercompany consolidations.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure smooth operations.

Review and process employee expense reports and credit card statements.

Manage VAT/Tax returns and oversee periodic and annual tax obligations.

Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, with proper recording of payroll transactions.

Contribute to month-end close activities and preparation of financial reports.

Review and develop internal control procedures to maintain strong financial governance.

Manage fixed assets and perform intercompany reconciliations, aligning with subsidiaries on transactions.

Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of our accounting tools and processes.
What You Bring to the Team:

A Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

At least three years of experience in general accounting.

A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Proficiency in using general business software and accounting tools.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and reconcile complex accounts.

Experience with general ledger management, including balance sheet reconciliations and income statement reviews.

A team-player attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (At least a conversational level).
The team is based in Parma and we meet in the office 3 days per week. The rest of the days, we work form home.
