Who you are and what you’ll do

• Build the team to automate the order-to-cash process, including responding to both proactive and reactive customer communications related to subscription billing and invoicing issues
• Handling changes to customer details and addressing billing queries from customers
• Actively manage the CRM data from HubSpot to NetSuite invoicing ensuring data hygiene and integrity as we introduce new workflows, products, and processes
• Owning the billing process for processes outside the automation and ensuring accuracy and efficiency when posting customer invoices
• Ensuring timely and complete collections, enforcing payment terms, and driving improvement of the collections process
• Posting of customer payments in a timely manner
• Providing reporting related to billings, collections aging, and forecasting needed by the Customer Success and Finance teams
• Maintaining accurate customer records as subscription changes occur, including upsell, downsell, churn, and product modification.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements in Billing Operations and the revenue accounting cycle
• Understanding of revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and financial reporting surrounding the order-to-cash process Partnering with business stakeholders to identify and action downstream transactions triggered through the billing and/or collections process
• Displaying strong analytical skills, attention to detail and Excel skills
• Assisting with month end closing 
• Identifying system or information gaps and proposing and executing sustainable solutions
• Preparing ad hoc analysis, reporting, and other related duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate looks like:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 5+ years of experience working in a SaaS environment
• Proven ability to thrive in a scale-up environment
• Have a solid understanding of core GAAP accounting principles and revenue recognition principles for software subscriptions
• Are familiar with or can quickly learn tools like HubSpot, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite
• Passion for optimizing and automating processes and systems
• Are proactive, can take initiative, and manage your workday effectively
• Possess strong communication skills and can work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment
