The Opportunity:
We're on the hunt for a Senior Accountant who's not just skilled with numbers but ready to light up our finance department with their expertise. This role is your chance to be a key player in the continuous growth of the largest full-service fire protection company in the Northeast. What You'll Be Doing:
- Tackle a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties and projects.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Analyze income statement activity to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure accurate financial reporting.
What You'll Need to Do It:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a corporate accounting department. Big 4 experience? Even better!
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power BI experience a plus).
- A desire to learn, grow, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate interactions across an organization.
- Experience with accounting for purchase price allocation from M&A transactions is a plus.
